How to Read a Cannabis Product Label
The label on a licensed cannabis product tells you much more than the strain name. Here’s what each part means.
Cannabinoid content
THC and CBD are usually shown as a percentage for flower and concentrates, and in milligrams for edibles and topicals. You may also see THCA, which converts to THC when heated.
Quantity
The net weight or volume of what’s inside the package.
Serving information
For edibles, the label gives milligrams per serving and the number of servings in the package, so check how much one piece contains.
Ingredients
Edibles and topicals list ingredients and allergens. Check these if you have dietary needs or sensitive skin.
Manufacturer and batch
Who made the product, and a batch or lot number that ties it to its lab test.
Warnings and instructions
Read them before use. They’re required for a reason.
