Visiting a DC Dispensary From Maryland
Thousands of Marylanders commute into DC every day. Here’s what you need to shop at a licensed DC dispensary. Last reviewed: October 2026.
What Maryland residents need
Maryland is on ABCA’s reciprocity list, so a Maryland medical cannabis registration plus an unexpired photo ID works. If you only shop adult-use in Maryland and don’t have a medical registration, apply online for a temporary DC registration.
Getting to us from Maryland
- Red Line from Silver Spring, Bethesda or Rockville: direct to Gallery Place-Chinatown.
- Green Line from Greenbelt or College Park: direct to Gallery Place-Chinatown.
- MARC to Union Station: then two stops on the Red Line.
Crossing back
Taking cannabis across state lines is against federal law, even between two places where it’s legal.
