Visiting a DC Dispensary as a Tourist or Non-Resident
Yes, visitors can shop at licensed DC dispensaries. You just need the right registration first. Here’s the quickest route for your situation.
If you have a medical card at home
DC recognises registrations from 39 states and territories, including California, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Bring your home registration and an unexpired government photo ID. If you’re from Virginia, also bring the written certification form from your practitioner. ABCA keeps the current list.
If you don't have a medical card
Apply for a temporary DC patient registration on the myABCA portal. It’s open to eligible domestic and international visitors, it’s digital, and you can use it as soon as it arrives. You can pick a short registration for a weekend trip or a longer one if you visit often.
Where we are
Jars DC is at 610 H St NW in Chinatown, a short walk from Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro, Capital One Arena, Penn Quarter and many downtown hotels. Open Sunday to Wednesday 11 AM to 7 PM, and Thursday to Saturday 11 AM to 9 PM.
Good to know
